Braniewo County (Polish: powiat braniewski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, northern Poland, on the border with Russia. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998.

A county or powiat (pronounced povyat, /pɔv.jät/) is the second level of Polish administrative division, between the voivodeship (provinces) and the gmina (municipalities or communes; plural "gminy"). The list includes the 314 "land counties" ( powiaty ziemskie) and the 66 "city counties" ( miasta na prawach powiatu or powiaty grodzkie ).

Powiat braniewski (Kreis Braunsberg) – okręg w dawnych Prusach Wschodnich, który istniał w latach 1818–1945. Wcześniej, od 1773 do 1818, na Warmii również istniał powiat braniewski, który jednak obejmowała znacznie większy obszar. W 1818 nastąpiła reorganizacja powiatów, której zasadniczym celem było zmniejszenie ich obszaru.
