Mar 18, 2023 · This tuning mod makes your Sim autonomously choose to sit at tables when they eat the next best thing such as counters rather than random places like sofas or just standing up.
Sims will now preferentially sit in a dining chair to eat. If that's not available, they'll choose to sit in a barstool, then in living room seating, and finally in beds and at desks. This is just a simple tuning mod, so it should be compatible with everything.
As a second choice, you may download a version which combines this mod and the code from a mod created by @mental-hygiene found here: Prefer to eat at Tables. Currently, both cannot be used together as they would conflict, since they use the same files.
This mod literally saves lives. My sims would cook a meal, then everyone will grab a serving, walk past the counter & stools, past the kitchen table, into the hall, pass by the dining room, all the way across the house, out the back door, off the patio, around the pool and sit at the bar.
With this mod, your Sims will prefer to eat at table, so they'll either sit in a dining chair or a bar stool if there's no chair available. If they're watching TV while eating, they'll still sit on sofas or armchairs.
