The Rocca Ubaldinesca or Castle of the Ubaldini is a relatively small Renaissance-style castle located in the town of Sassocorvaro Auditore, province of Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. The castle, located on a hill overlooking the river Foglia , is peculiar for it turtle-like layout.
Sep 2018. Built around 1474 through Francesco di Giorgio Martini, an architect and military engineer of Duke Federico da Montefeltro it was an important border fortification against the Malatesta of Rimini. The Rocca housed thousands of Italian masterpieces during WWII, so it gainded the name Ark of Art.
