Apr 18, 2016 · For those of you unfamiliar with S&W Bodyguard 380, let’s go over the specs. First, it is a 6+1 capacity, double-action-only semiauto. While the trigger pull is long—about twice as long as I would like even on a pocket gun—it is smooth, and on my sample gun, the trigger pull was 9.5 pounds. The trigger itself is smooth, flat plastic.

Dec 20, 2023 · The S&W Bodyguard 380 ACP traces its lineage back to the original S&W Bodyguard series. The Model 38 was the original Bodyguard and was a 38 Special five-shot, J-frame revolver. The frame featured an enclosed hammer that has a small tab that allows the hammer to still be manually cocked.

The BODYGUARD 380 is about 20 percent lighter than the BODYGUARD 38. The BODYGUARD 380 also compares favorably with competing .380 pocket pistols in terms of weight and price.

The .380 Bodyguard pistol was introduced in 2011 and looked a lot like the pistol we have here, minus some slide engraving – the “M&P†was missing. In 2014, S&W rectified that situation by formally moving the Bodyguard into the M&P family.
Dec 13, 2023 · The Smith and Wesson Bodyguard has a 2.75” barrel. The gun is 5.4” in length, 4.1” in height, and a very svelte 0.75” in width. At 11.85 ozs., it is very light, yet retains enough weight and size that it does not handle like a toy. A word about field stripping.
Sep 2, 2014 · Unloaded, the M&P Bodyguard 380 weighs a mere 12 ounces. Loaded with seven rounds, the gun was a little over 14 ounces on my postal scale. As a guy who has carried both a S&W 642 (15 ounces unloaded) and a Glock 27 (22 ounces unloaded) as a backup, less than 15 ounces for a fully loaded pistol has its appeal.
