  4. It's just lazy, a total cop out. The episodes preceeding it are truly great but the finale just drops the ball hard by having Lila killed Doakes. If Dexter had broken the code for the first time in the s2 finale by killing Doakes it would've been quite powerful and could've sent the show down a completely different, better path.
