Synopsis by Hal Erickson. The Fabulous Senorita in this frothy musical is Republic's resident Latin bombshell Estelita Rodriguez, here billed simply as Estelita. The story concerns the daughter (Estelita) of a Cuban millionaire who falls in love with a bookish professor (Robert Clarke) rather than the wealthy fiance of her father's choosing.
[Estelita talking to herself in a mirror] "You do nothing but get me into trouble." Come for Rita Moreno being adorable, stay for Estelita Rodriguez being adorable too. As someone raised on I Love Lucy reruns and 90's sitcoms, I respond well to silly nonsense like pretending to be your own sister, or inviting two guys to the dance.
