The 81st Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and will be held on the Lido di Venezia from 28 August to 7 September 2024. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).

Eligible films. With the exception of special cases, all feature films submitted to Giornate degli Autori must fulfill the following requirements: 1) only features and documentaries longer than 60 minutes are eligible; 2) films must have been produced after September 30, 2023; 3) if selected, films must be screened during the festival in DCP;
The Settimana Internazionale della Critica (SIC) is an independent and parallel section of the Venice International Film Festival organized by the Union of Italian Film Critics (SNCCI). All films submitted must be recently produced, completed not prior to 9 September 2023, and must not have been presented earlier in any other format or length, not even as a work-in-progress, for any selection in previous editions of the Venice Film Festival.
