The Western Australian Museum is a statutory authority within the Culture and the Arts Portfolio, established under the Museum Act 1969. The museum has six main sites. The state museum, WA Museum Boola Bardip, [1] is located in the Perth Cultural Centre.
The Western Australian Museum is the State’s premier cultural organisation, housing WA’s scientific and cultural collection. For over 120 years the Museum has been making the State's natural and social heritage accessible and engaging through research, exhibitions and public programs.
The museum is currently the Western Australian Museum's centre for research in the natural sciences (fauna, fossils, minerals and meteorites), although its exhibitions encompasses natural science, anthropology and social history.
