- Hollywood Sign. You can’t get much more iconic then the Hollywood Sign! And hiking to the Hollywood sign is a great way to see it and to get a view of all of LA.
- Walk of Fame. Is a visit to LA complete without doing the Hollywood Walk of Fame and seeing the Chinese Theatre?! Probably not, but in my opinion it is a little disappointing.
- Venice Beach. If you are looking for a unique experience than Venice Beach is the place for you. There is a nice sized walkway that takes you from the Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach so we opted to park right in the middle in a large parking lot – you do have to pay for it.
- Santa Monica Pier. We have heard a lot of really good things about the Pier but have never made it there ourselves. It was super busy the day we were there – but it is definitely on our list of places to check out next time we are in the area.

May 6, 2024 · THE 10 BEST Los Angeles Things to Do with Kids. 1. Universal Studios Hollywood. Mummy ride was my favorite and the Super Mario World was amazing. 2. Griffith Observatory. Griffith Observatory is a great place to visit for outstanding views of LA and the surrounding area.
- Disneyland. It’s not strictly in Los Angeles (it’s just outside in Anaheim), but what would a post about things to do in L.A. with kids be without a mention of Disneyland?!
- Universal Studios. Universal Studios is a big crowd pleaser for all ages – it’s exciting to be in Hollywood and see the setting for some of your favourite programmes on the studio tour.
- Venice Beach. Venice Beach is one of the most fun places in L.A. It oozes good vibes and has an offbeat, bohemian edge that makes it interesting for all the family.
- Santa Monica Pier. Just up the coast from Venice Beach is Santa Monica where you’ll find the famous Santa Monica Pier. It’s home to the iconic ferris wheel and roller coaster, plus lots of other rides and amusement games that kids will love.
