     I can't KeyPress event here for it. So I need something that can be used instead of KeyChar.

     Can't see why you can't use the KeyPress event handler for a TextBox, cause that will do what you want. To add the same handler to different controls you can use a For Each loop in the Form load handler. If necessary the event handler can be in the Public Module, if you want events on controls on different forms to be handled with it.

     If you change your function to accept a Char and return a boolean you could accomplish what you want quite simply by using the Char.IsDigit method. And convert the e argument in the event handler to Char. Something like this:

     It sounds like the printf is the problem, not sprintf. Assuming your Log message uses an interrupt (UARTs do), and your timer is called from an interrupt, then your options are limited.

     I would set a flag in the timer that your task code can check, once outside the context of the timer. This flag could indicate one of several messages to print, even include a time stamp if that helps to resort things afterwards, since your printed messages will not be in order.

     Or, with SWO output (like the Segger j-link), you should be able to just send the data. But to avoid scrambled sentences, you need to halt interrupts while sending out a debug message, which obviously can affect the real-time behavior.

     a->b is generally a synonym for (*a).b. The parenthesises here are necessary because of the binding strength of the operators * and .: *a.b wouldn't work because . binds stronger and is executed first. This is thus equivalent to *(a.b).

     Beware of overloading, though: Since both -> and * can be overloaded, their meaning can differ drastically.

     The C++-language defines the arrow operator (->) as a synonym for dereferencing a pointer and then use the .-operator on that address.

     For example:

     If you have a an object, anObject, and a pointer, aPointer:

     SomeClass anObject = new SomeClass();SomeClass *aPointer = &anObject;-

     To be able to use one of the objects methods you dereference the pointer and do a method call on that address:

     (*aPointer).method();-

     Which could be written with the arrow operator:

     aPointer->method();-

     The main reason of the existents of the arrow operator is that it shortens the typing of a very common task and it also kind of easy to forgot the parentheses around the dereferencing of the pointer. If you forgot the parentheses the .-operator will bind stronger then *-operator and make our example execute as:

     *(aPointer.method()); // Not our intention!-

     Firstly, I want to clarify a misunderstanding you appear to have about the UPDATE function in Triggers. UPDATE returns a boolean result based on if the column inside the function was assigned a value in the SET clause of the UPDATE statement. It does not check if that value changed. This is both documented feature, and is stated to be "by-design".

     This means that if you had a TRIGGER with UPDATE(SomeColumn) the function would return TRUE for both of these statements, even though no data was changed:

     UPDATE dbo.SomeTableSET SomeColumn = SomeColumn;UPDATE STSET SomeColumn = NULLFROM dbo.SomeTable STWHERE SomeColumn IS NULL;

     If, within a TRIGGER, you need to check if a value has changed you need to reference the inserted and deleted pseudo-tables. For non-NULLable columns equality (=) can be checked, however, for NULLable columns you'll also need to check if the column changed from/to NULL. In the latest version of the data engine (at time of writing) IS DISTINCT FROM makes this far easier.

     Now onto the problem you are actually trying to solve. It looks like you are, in truth, overly complicated this. Firstly, you are setting the value to GETDATE so it is almost certainly impossible that the column will be set to be the same value it already set to; you have a 1/300 second window to do the same UPDATE twice, and if you add IO operations, connection timing, etc, that basically makes hitting that window twice impossible.

     For what you want, just UPDATE both columns in your procedure's definition:

     ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[personnel_car_update] @PkId int AS --This has a trailing comma, which is invalid syntax. The parathesis are also not needed; SP's aren't functions. You were also missing the ASBEGIN SET NOCOUNT ON; UPDATE dbo.tbl_personnel_cars --Always schema qualify SET end_date = GETDATE(), owner_changed = 1 WHERE pk_id = @PkId;END;
