Feb 16, 2016 · OpenCongress is a joint project of the Sunlight Foundation and the Participatory Politics Foundation. It uses data provided by GovTrack.us, which collects data from official government websites, such as Thomas. It can be easily retrieved using Github API. If you cannot use the API answer or from http://caius.github.io/github_id/ you can go to github --> settings --> emails , under the Primary email address you will find {id}+{user_name}@users.noreply.github.com.

If you are a registered user, you can track bills and receive updates about actions being taken, and you can connect and talk to other registered users on the site as well.
The default location for storage of the data files is /tmp/opencongress_data but you can change this by editing config/application_settings.yml. This task will import ALL of the data for the current session of Congress: it will take a long time and occupy a LOT of space on your filesystem!
Jun 23, 2008 · OpenCongress makes it easy to track particular bills, topics and congresspeople by RSS, a tracking page or an embeddable widget (see below, for example).
You can find your Google Location ID, PID, and CID directly in the platform by going to your Manage Locations section and clicking single location edit. Your Location ID will be shown on top followed by your PID and CID.
