Aug 15, 2022 · Taking a train around the Chicago land area is a fast and interesting way to travel within a 50 to 60 mile radius of the city. There are two ways to travel by train. You can either take the regional train, the Metra or you can take an Amtrak train.
- Acela. The higher speed Acela, which actually has reliable Wi-Fi, shuttles business travelers between Boston and New Haven, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
- Adirondack. The Adirondack runs once daily in both directions between Montreal and New York City, with major stops in Westport, Saratoga Springs and Albany.
- Amtrak Cascades. Connects Vancouver, British Columbia with Seattle, Tacoma, Portland and Eugene.
- Auto Train. The only one of its kind in the US, travelers can take their cars with them from Lorton, Virginia to Sanford, Florida, near Orlando-area attractions.
