Nov 24, 2020 · Being one of only ten coastal municipalities along the Belgian 64-kilometer long shoreline, Knokke is a chic seaside resort town located in the northern corner of West Flanders. Never-ending beaches, renowned dining and nightlife scene is what makes Knokke known as Belgium’s answer to St. Tropez.

- For Freedom Museum. For Freedom Museum is an exhibition which is heavily dedicated to World War II and the history behind the tragic event. This museum captures the real essence of the era with life sized models to help illustrate the time.
- Sincfala: Museum van de Zwinstreek. Sincfala: Museum van de Zwinstreek is an educational museum type attraction which focuses on the rough life of the Heistese fishermen as well as the town’s local history.
- Knokke’s Nature Reserve. Knokke’s Nature Reserve is a fantastic scenic area in Knokke, which is great to spot a variety of different bird species at your leisure.
- Grand Casino. Grand Casino is a gambling venue located in the town of Knokke. There is a large variety of different slot machines and live tables to play at during your visit such as roulette, blackjack and poker.
- Visit Knokke beaches. My favorite part of Knokke is definitely its golden sandy beach. It invites for looong walks and in the summer months, the sea is even warm enough to go for a swim.
- Indulge in Seafood & Ice cream. You know that I am obsessed with Belgian food. Especially when it comes to seafood. Well, you can’t get any fresher seafood than on the Belgian coast itself.
- Fancy Shopping in Knokke-Heist. If you love shopping, you’ll have a great time in Knokke. Even if the town is packed with luxury boutiques and high-end shops like Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Donna Karan and more, you’ll also have more affordable options.
- Take a bike ride. One of my favorite things to do on the Belgian coast (well, on any coast), is to rent a bike and go for long rides. It is just a fabulous experience to feel the wind in your hair while you never lose the sea out of sight.
Knokke is located on the beach. A beautiful long beach where you see cute white beach houses and a beautiful beach bar every few meters. The beach is divided into several parts. You have a sports beach, a children’s area full of playgrounds and the luxurious “Zoute” with expensive restaurants and a jet-set vibe.
- Visit the For Freedom Museum. This fascinating museum in the Knokke-Heist area shows how tough life was during the Second World War in an accurate and realistic way.
- See Knokke’s Nature Reserve. The Zwin Nature Park amusingly but accurately describes itself as the international bird airport due to the incredible amount and variety of migrating birds that pass through here on their journeys around the world.
- Be a high-roller in the Grand Casino. Knokke’s Grand Casino is far more grand on the inside than from outside. On the outside the building is a fairly unassuming concrete structure with some neon lights for effect.
- Learn about the ways of the past in Knokke-Heist. The daily lives of the fisherman in Knokke-Heist were tough and at the Sincfala Museum you can learn all about them.
