There are so many ways you can do this and it is so important to integrate creativity and movement in the process. Let’s not forget that knowing your students is the best way to make teaching biographies fun.
2. The Life and Times…. This is a fun timeline activity that begs to be interactive! When teaching biographies, I love to use timelines because it gives students a concrete visual of when key events took place. This helps students better able to identify with the life of the person they are studying.
By showing how factors such as gender, race, education, etc. effect a person's perception, biographies can bring history to life and help students to see history makers as human. Teaching history with biographies can also help students see how they fit into the historical narrative. 2
