Our company spends a lot on yelp, and we still have hidden reviews, both positive and negative. I've spoken with them multiple times. They swear up and down that it is an algorithm meant to weed out fake reviews and they have no control over changing it.

21 out of 177 reviews for my restaurant are hidden. None of them violated any terms of service and the submitters aren't related to my restaurant or employees in any way. Some are bad reviews, but most are 4 and 5 star reviews.
Unfortunately, Yelp doesn’t want anyone to see that review, (and possibly others you’ve written for other businesses as well), so it has hidden them. You can see that if you go to our Yelp page now and look just below the reviews where there is a link to: “16 other reviews that are not currently recommended.”.
