She joined the cast as a featured player in the show's 1980–1981 season (the first black female repertory player was Danitra Vance).

    Yvonne Hudson is a former cast member of Saturday Night Live. She appeared in season 6. She was the first African-American woman on the cast, and only the third African-American person, after Garrett Morris and Eddie Murphy, who'd joined the show just a week earlier.
