  2. Mar 3, 2005 · Reviewed March 3, 2005. My dad was visiting from out of state and wanted to check out Alcatraz, so he booked our tickets online at least 2 weeks in advance. We wanted to go on the night tour, and that particular tour sells out ahead of time, so I definitely recommend booking in advance.
