Amy Holden Jones is an American screenwriter and film director best known for directing The Slumber Party Massacre and for creating the FOX medical drama The Resident. She has edited various films and later began directing and writing. She currently works in television.
Created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi, the series was purchased by Fox from Showtime in 2017. In May 2017, Fox ordered the project to series, with a 14-episode season order. The series premiere was a lead-out to the Vikings-Eagles NFC Championship Game .

Biography. Amy Holden Jones has worked her way through the barrels of low-budget filmmaking for Roger Corman to become an A-list screenwriter of studio productions and, occasionally, a director of mainstream fare as well. An art history major at Wellesley College, Jones studied film at nearby MIT.
