When Barney hears about an international summit meeting that will be held in the area, he volunteers the home of a wealthy Mayberry citizen. He fails to get the permission of the homeowner first, and the owner refuses to let them use his house. The summit entourage arrives in town with no place to hold the meeting.
•Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The Russian member of the conference, apparently, can't speak or read English on his own. Yet he is able to read the word "pickles" on a jar in the fridge. This makes no sense considering the Russian language uses an entirely different alphabet.
•This was Barney Fife's only appearance in season 8. This is also his last appearance on The Andy Griffith Show.
•Opie was supposed to be sleeping in the living room, so it's rather strange that he wasn't awakened by the men when they "raided the icebox" and when they continued their meeting while enjoying Aunt Bee's food.
•Barney references the gold shipment in A Black Day for Mayberry.
•Barney mistakenly chants "Early, early, urchin free" instead of the traditional children's game Olly Olly Oxen Free.
•The mansion seen in this episode was actually the administration offices of Culver City studios built around 1918, and although it looks like a mansion it was actually built as an administrative office building to resemble a southern mansion and George Washington's Mount Vernon. Located on Washington boulevard in Culver City The Mansion still exists to this day. The Mansion was the first building built at Culver City studios, and remained in use as administrative offices for desilu studios.
•When Barney picks up the phone to call Raleigh he asks for the operator, not Sarah. When Andy calls them he just starts talking without addressing Sarah.
