Biography. Founding bass player Annette Zilinskas joins Susanna Hoffs, Vicki Peterson, and Debbi Peterson of The Bangles for a live show in 2016 from the Whisky A Go Go. She is a founding member of The Bangles and returned to the band in 2018 [1] after an absence of 35 years.
Original bassist Annette Zilinskas started joining the band for selected live shows in 2014 and rejoined the band in 2018. This was the first time the original founding four members of the Bangles had played together since 1983.
Annette Zilinskas is the original bassist for the Bangles and lead vocalist with influential roots-punk outfit Blood on the Saddle, whose juiced-up anthems inspired the cowpunk genre and paved the way for the No Depression movement and its related alt-country/Americana revivals.
Founded by LA natives Susanna Hoffs (guitar/vocals), and sisters Debbi Peterson (drums/guitar/vocals), and Vicki Peterson (guitar/vocals), and bass player Annette Zilinskas, the band first hit the music radar in 1981 as 'The Bangs', holding their own in LA's "Paisley Underground" scene.
Sisters Debbi and Vicki Peterson on drums and bass respectively and singer/guitarist Susanna Hoffs started the group when the Peterson’s responded to a want-ad placed by Hoffs; later they added Annette Zilinskas on bass.
He met Annette Zilinskas at a Blasters gig and they began singing Johnny Cash-June Carter style duets together. Annette was playing bass in a 1960s band called the Bangs and they used to listen to DJ Rodney Bingenheimer play their respective bands on his KROQ radio show.
