I just watched the movie, and the ending felt depressing. It was a feel good ending until the last 10 seconds. I interpreted the ending simialler to you. It could mean the character wondered about his choice to take medication killed his real self, but just becausr he wondered that doesnt mean its true. 5.

Sorry for the extremely long post, this movie resonated with me a lot. This is the true essence of the movie that most people missed! (A LOT OF SPOILERS COMING UP) Everyone believes that it is a "happy ending" with everyone acting "normally" in society at the end, when in reality Zach's character was the only one "normal".
