Jun 10, 2006 · The asking price on this boat is triple the older Miller but she is essentially fresh and ready to go. I have read some impressive early reviews of this model. Anybody out there had any personal experience with a Quanta 28 they'd like to share. The engine is only 9hp pushing 7000 lbs of boat and that concerns me a bit.

Apr 19, 2020 · The boat became a lot better in light winds. That said, we issues trying to beat a well sailed Ranger 29 and a equally well sailed standard Miller 29. Upwind we could stay with them, downwind we could eat them up. The boat was originally rated for IOR. We rated someplace between a 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton.
May 23, 2024 · The Axopar 29 isn’t just a slightly bigger version of the 28, it’s a complete reinvention of it. Hugo Andreae tests both the Sun Top and Cross Cabin to see which is the best option. A ttempting to replace an icon is always fraught with danger but the new Axopar 29 appears to have cleared that hurdle without batting an eyelid.

Jan 28, 2004 · The original 29, introduced in 1976, was 29′ 7″ overall. The new boat, launched in 1983, was over a foot shorter. This wasn’t the result of a chopped transom or a plugged mold: The MK II version was narrower (by 11″), lighter (by 800 lbs.) and carried considerably less sail.
