Irish Americans Michael O'Rourke and Dennis Dugan run rival Bowery beer gardens in turn-of-the-century New York. After Michael steals Bonnie Latour, Dennis' headline act, and puts her in his Crystal Palace show, Dennis tries to repossess Bonnie's wardrobe from off her back.

This is pretty much a cute little musical comedy about two Irish-American showmen, Michael O'Rourke (Jack Oakie) and Dennis Dugan (Donald Cook) who start out with rival show houses in the Bowery in the gay 90's and continue that rivalry to Broadway, thus the title.
Two Bowery vaudevillians find success in producing shows on Broadway, but when one of them suddenly departs to work for a beautiful woman, a feud erupts.
Bowery to Broadway plot "TO FILL YOUR EYES...TO THRILL YOUR HEART!" Michael O'Rourke and Dennis Dugan are competitors. They both run several theater cafes in downtown New York. Things don't get any better when Michael steals Dennis' headlining act, Bonnie Latour. Dennis then steals Bonnie's wardrobe, something for which he ends up in jail.
