Christian III, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld ( Strassburg, 7 November 1674 – Zweibrücken, 3 February 1735) was a German nobleman. He was a member of the House of Palatinate-Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld, a cadet branch of the House of Wittelsbach.
His son Christian III ended official residency at Birkenfeld in 1717 and resided primarily in Bischweiler, alternating with Zweibrücken after 1734, in which year he succeeded to the Duchy of Zweibrücken.
A dispute arose as to who would inherit the Duchy of Zweibrücken. 24 December 1733 treaty with Elector Palatine Charles III Philip (right) and Christian III concluded the inheritance battle between the dynasties. The dispute had to be settled by the Emperor’s intervention.
