Mar 8, 2010 · You only need the 1/2 ohm Clearwater speakers if you have a "Bose" system. Clearwater makes the traditional 4/8 ohm speakers for the non-Bose systems. They are pricey thou.. With the non-Bose system you have a wide range of possibilities for speaker replacement. The sky is the limit.
Anyway, I found them on gomiata.com if anyone's interested. $200. incl. 8" door speakers and 1" tweeters and those custom crossover modules. And they claim it's all waterproof. <-- why I chose these. EDIT: I found a zip tie lying around the office. both sides are in! They sound awesome with the top down, and even better with the top up!
Mar 8, 2010 · Assuming you are talking about headrest speakers right? I was thinking about gettin Clearwater speakers until I heard that Max-5 is better. I really like Max-5 a lot. I was going through product reviews and this forum where Jeff Anderson answered couple questions regarding those speakers.
Mar 8, 2010 · I understand wanting to keep the Bose and replace the speakers but used OEM speakers might be the easiest way to fix your setup. To upgrade sound quality removing or bypassing Bose is best. Clearwater was well reviewed by many which is why I jumped when I saw the used set on Craigslist.
