     If I claim an invalid encoding in the third line after two empty lines, it runs fine:

     --# -*- coding: foobar -*--

     If I remove one or both of the empty lines, this happens:

     SyntaxError: encoding problem: foobar with BOM-

     That's because Python looks for an encoding only in the first two lines. Of course it doesn't have to be an invalid encoding. You also get a difference for a valid encoding other than the default encoding, as the file will be decoded differently then. Again depending on whether it's in the first two lines or not, so empty lines can make a difference there.

     While a page can intercept and block clicks and keystrokes on the page itself, it can't do the same for actions outside the page. Focus on something outside the page (such as the address bar) and use a keyboard shortcut that opens the source - Control-U, in many browsers.

     But the source text of that site is also hard to get to, because there are many empty lines. Use a text processor or some other tool to replace multiple occurrences of \r\n with a single \r\n, and you'll be left with the readable source code in front of you.

     Is it technically possible to take a public repository I own on github, and turn it private at a later date?

     You cannot have private repositories unless you pay for them. Github's Plans and Pricing state that you can sign up for the free public repositories, and upgrade/downgrade your account at any time, so they almost certainly have a way to make your free public repositories private by upgrading to a paid account, or they would have a tremendously broken business model.

     After reading their help files, you can indeed mark a public repository as private if you have a paid account.

     You could also just delete the repository from your free account, and start hosting the repository yourself if you want to stop sharing it.

     I found this class on Grep Code. You can look around and see if it works for you. However, for anything related to SMS, you probably do not need to change the source code, just intercept calls at appropriate places !
