Commando is in my mind the best action film out there to date, this movie was made 14 years ago and no other film can push it out of first position. The film got everything: a great looking Arnold, extremely fine music by James Horner and great settings for the action scenes.
May 5, 2022 · Commando is all action, all the time, with impressive sequences across the board. It’s missing a villainous presence and has a lot of mechanical flaws, but that doesn’t stop the movie from being a tour-de-force of good leads performing better acts of violence.

Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a rating of 67% based on reviews from 36 critics, with an average rating of 5.80/10. [12] The website's critical consensus reads, "The ultimate '80s Schwarzenegger movie, replete with a threadbare plot, outsized action, and endless one-liners." [12]
Oct 23, 2015 · "Commando" is as knowingly unreal as some of the best 1980s Hong Kong action classics. Like those films, this one is essentially a comedy with a body count; the bit where Matrix swings across a shopping mall atrium like Tarzan might be an homage to the most famous stunt in Jackie Chan's "Police Story."
