First, the inscription “IN GOD WE TRUST” is actually “IN GOD WE TRVST” and this is on every Peace dollar. The “V” was chosen to represent victory in war. Second, the inscribed “3” on 1923-P Peace dollars may look like an “8” sometimes, but the 1928-P varieties are rarer, so have an expert verify the date.
