Background. Playhouse Disney was a block and, internationally, a network launched on October 20, 1997 as Disney Channel 's answer to Nick Jr. However, this network never used its own real on-screen logo until 2000; just the normal Disney Channel logo of the time.
Its original logo featured a rounded TV screen with horizontal lines and a Mickey Mouse silhouette. 1986–1997. The lettering below the logo were changed in February 1987 to resemble the wordmark of The Walt Disney Company. Mickey Mouse's silhouette was also changed, making it the current one.
