Nov 2, 2020 · We’re thrown off-balance by the threat to our self image and reputation. Defensiveness is an instinctive reaction. Faster than we can think, we try to regain balance, stop the pain, and protect ourselves. Unfortunately, defensiveness doesn’t achieve these goals.

Generally, the idea is that proactivity (a strong offensive action) instead of a passive attitude will preoccupy the opposition and ultimately hinder its ability to mount an opposing counterattack, leading to a strategic advantage.
