There are various entrances to take into the preserve. Situated in a residential area with street parking nearby. I parked at the Arroyo Burro Beach (free) since I went there first with my dog.

The preserve has 70 acres, trails, and a stunning coastal cliff view. The beach below (you probably need to drive to the parking lot) is an outstanding beach for unleashed dogs too. Highly recommend for dog and nature lovers.

Feb 6, 2019 · Douglas Family Preserve is doggy heaven. Dogs can run free here and many do! It's fun to watch their happy faces as they arrive at the trail. The trail follows the cliff past cactus, bright pink bougainvillea, and old trees, some clinging to the cliff almost falling off!
