Dec 11, 2011 · I just stumbled upon the most wonderful web site dedicated to the legendary Villa Turicum, the Lake Forest estate built for Harold McCormick and his wife, Edith Rockefeller McCormick. The 44-room Italianate villa was constructed between 1908 and 1918.

Lake Shore Drive was built in 1883 for Nathaniel Jones, a prosperous member of the Board of Trade. He was described as “one of the wealthiest and most successful businessmen in Chicago.”.
