Aug 17, 1981 · Ervil LeBaron, a leader of a sect based on polygamy and several times a suspect in attempts to kill rival religious leaders, was found dead in his cell in Utah State Prison yesterday.
On June 1, 1979, Ervil LeBaron was apprehended by police in Mexico and extradited to the United States, where he was convicted of having ordered Allred's death. In 1980, he was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Utah State Prison in Draper, Utah , where he died on August 16, 1981, from an apparent suicide. [ 22 ]

Jan 4, 2024 · Ervil LeBaron was found dead on August 16th, 1981, and his death was considered to be suicide. Evril was behind a series of crimes and although he had been arrested before in 1974, his conviction was overturned and he was released.
