I just watched Extras for the hundredth time, but this time I watched it on Netflix instead of my DVD. Has anyone else watched the Netflix Extras, and noticed during the interview in Andy's home, the reporter from The Guardian says "young Russell Crowe" instead of "young Richard Burton"?
Only these two shows of all the ones I'm recording (including other ESPN shows) end up in Extras. I can find them alright, but it seems so random. And I don't even understand why some shows are Extras.
In the States extras get around $180 for 8 hours. Speaking roles start at something like $1000 for the same amount of time, and you're eligible for residuals. It's a completely separate level, you're comparing actors who went through a few rounds of auditions to people who got hired based on a photograph.
This is the answer. On top of that, this is a syndicated show, not a network show. As a GenXer who's worked in TV for 25 years, it's interesting to see the perspective, given how little people watch linear TV these days.
