Jun 30, 2023 · The Division of Retirement administers the Florida Retirement System (FRS) Pension Plan and provides retirement, disability or death benefits to retirees or their designated beneficiaries.
You will have a one-time second election to change membership plans during your career. You may retire with a benefit from the FRS Pension Plan at normal retirement if you are vested. For members initially enrolled before July 1, 2011, the vesting requirement is six years of creditable service.
You need to go to your human resource office and complete a Form FR-11, Application for Service Retirement, sign the form in front of a notary, and submit your signed form to the division. The form is also available to be downloaded from the Forms page of the division's website.
