Feb 21, 2018 · Funny Man Pages: for some light-hearted Linux fun. There is a package unsurprisingly called funny-manpages and it adds some witty entries to the man pages. Before I show you a few examples, let me give you the same ‘warning’ that its description does: A set of miscellaneous humorous manpages (don’t take them too seriously!).
- sl Command (Steam Locomotive) You might be aware of the command ls command, which is used frequently to view the contents of a directory but because of miss-typing sometimes you would result in ‘sl‘.
- telehack Command. The telehack is a website that provides a text-based interface resembling a command-line environment, where you can interact with various commands, explore simulated systems, play text-based games, read articles, and even participate in a simulated storyline.
- fortune Command. The fortune command is a fun command that is used to display a random quote, a witty saying, or a fortune message. Install fortune Command.
- rev Command. The rev command is used to reverse the order of characters in each line of a given input. It reads the input from either standard input or from files and outputs the reversed lines.

- Engrish.com. It seems somehow appropriate to kick off this list with Engrish.com. It's a website that specializes in pictures of English-language mishaps, often in foreign lands.
- Funny or Die. Funny or Die's bread and butter are viral videos, but it mixes them in with a healthy dose of original content from comedians as well. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Henchy launched the site, and it has since received lots of Silicon Valley backing.
- The Onion. If satire is more to your liking, you'll certainly have heard about The Onion. It one of the best satire sites on the web. The site, which is operated out of Chicago, uses current events to create spoof stories, editorials, op-ed pieces, and interviews.
- Overheard in New York. Overheard in New York lets residents of the city submit snippets of conversations they hear while going about their daily lives in the Big Apple.
