Detention Officers. The 16 full-time Detention Officers perform all tasks eliminating the need for outside vendors.
Los Alamos County Detention Center. Houses pre-sentenced and sentenced inmates. The court can sentence an inmate up to 364 days on a single offense. With mutliple charges with sentences over 364 days are housed in the state penitentiary.
Chief Dino Sgambellone. Chief Dino Sgambellone became a Police Officer in Mansfield, Ohio in 1991 and rose to the rank of Chief. He became the Los Alamos Chief in 2013. While Chief, LAPD became accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), and Los Alamos has had some of the lowest crime rates in its history.
