Entamoeba polecki . E. polecki cyst in a concentrated wet mount stained with iodine. Cysts of Entamoeba polecki measure 9–25 µm and are usually uninucleate, but binucleate forms are seen rarely. The nucleus is often large, measuring up to one-third of the diameter of the cyst.

Aug 23, 2023 · The most distinguishing feature of the Entamoeba coli is the eight-core nuclei, which develops as the cyst begins to mature. In the octonucleate cystic form, the glycogen vacuole is reabsorbed. Occasionally, the nuclei may replicate until it has 16 nuclei in total. The mature cyst is rich in glycogen with a refractile wall.

The trophozoite is 10 to 60 µm in diameter, ameboid, actively motile, and often erythrophagocytic. In stained specimens, the nucleus has a central karyosome with finely beaded peripheral chromatin. The cyst form is rounded, 10 to 20 µm in diameter, with one to four nuclei showing the characteristic appearance.

Entamoeba cells are small, with a single nucleus and typically a single lobose pseudopod taking the form of a clear anterior bulge. They have a simple life cycle. The trophozoite (feeding-dividing form) is approximately 10-20 μm in diameter and feeds primarily on bacteria.
Entamoeba histolytica is an anaerobic parasitic amoebozoan, part of the genus Entamoeba. [1] Predominantly infecting humans and other primates causing amoebiasis, E. histolytica is estimated to infect about 35-50 million people worldwide. [1] E. histolytica infection is estimated to kill more than 55,000 people each year. [2]
Jan 31, 2022 · The cytoplasm of mature E. histolytica cysts contains abundant vesicles, ranging between 0.3 and 0.6μm in diameter, with a dense fibro-granular content, frequently seen approaching the cytoplasmic aspect of the plasma membrane; others were separated from the plasma membrane by a space 7 nm wide, apparently in the process of depositing the ...
