    Lost Spectral Gryphon

The Lost Spectral Gryphon is a rather easy pet to obtain — if you're Alliance, as it's deep within Stormwind City. Oh, and it's only available to Beast Mastery Hunters. To obtain it, head to the Flight Master and look at the pile of hay to the right. You'll see a solitary white feather, which you can click on to summon the Gryphon for taming.

    Lightning Paw

A grey, ghostly fox, Lightning Paw can be found just south of Stormwind City in Duskwood. It usually patrols the area around Raven Hill in the west, a large cemetery filled with undead. It also hides in bushes, so create a macro to target the pesky critter. It has a long spawn timer, so be prepared to keep checking back often if it's not there.

    Karoma

Another spectral wolf, Karoma spawns in and around Firebeard's Patrol in Twilight Highlands. It's a rare spawn, so keep surveilling the areas marked on the map aboveand eventually you'll spot it.

    Ankha & Magria

In order for Ankha and Magria to even spawn you'll have to complete the Mount Hyjal questline up to and including The Sanctuary Must Not Fall, in order to unlock the Shrine of Malorne daily quests. It's a fairly hefty grind, so to get started, speak to Ysera at Nordrassil and pick up Protect The World Tree. At max level, it should take you around two hours to advance the chain sufficiently. Once done, you'll find either of them patrolling The Regrowth, the area formerly known as The Flamewake...

    Ban'thalos

The third Spirit Beast in the area is Ban'thalos, a ghostly owl found flying high above the Shine of Malorne once the same point in the questline is reached. The bad news is that this one is really, really difficult to get. The difference could be your ability to balance on a pixel atop a tree... You'll need to somehow target and aggro it in mid-air, bringing it down to ground level to tame. Fall damage will certainly kill you, so if you can't do the tree trick in the picture above, you'll ne...

    Gon

Gon is the Horde equivalent of the Lost Spectral Gryphon, in that it's deep within Orgrimmar and only accessible to Beast Mastery Hunters. Locate the Warlock Trainer within the Valley of the Spirits, and then click the egg you'll see in the basket next to the blue flamebehind him. Gon will spawn for you to tame. Arcturis

You'll find Arcturis in Northrend's Grizzly Hills. It's a spectral bear that usually appears at Amberpine Lodge. As an exotic pet, you'll have to be a Beast Mastery Hunter to obtain him.

    Loque'nahak

A rare feral cat, Loque'nahak is found in several potential spawn points in Sholazar Basin. Again, there are no special conditions to taming this beast, but due to the wide spread, you may need to do a few laps of the zoneto find it.

    Skoll

A dark blue wolf, Skoll looks great as a Hunter pet. You'll find it in the Storm Peaks, in one of a few spawn points — a couple near the Temple of the Storms, and one in Brunnhildar Village.

    Gumi

The first of three spectral porcupines in Pandaria, Gumi can be found just to the east of One Keg in Kun-Lai Summit. This one can be tough to catch if you're too high level, as it needs to be brought down below 30 percent health before you can tame it. We recommend that you unequip your armor, use a low-level weapon, and give yourself Resurrection Sicknessfirst by killing yourself and resurrecting at the Spirit Guardian.

    Elegon

If you fancy getting your hands on a superb-looking spectral cloud serpent, then you'll need to head inside the Mogu'shan Vaults raid in Kun-Lai Summit. The fifth boss, Elegon has no special requirements to tame. Once you've secured the creature as a pet, it'll respawnso you can defeat it and progress to the final boss.

    Hutia

For Hutia, you need to follow exactly the same process as with Gumi, so that you don't accidentally kill it before being able to tame it. You'll find it in the Jade Forest, right near the Emperor's Omen flight path.

    Gara

A purple spirit wolf, Gara is found in Draenor-era Shadowmoon Valley. She is a multi-step tame: 1. Step 1: Visit the Burial Fieldsin Shadowmoon Valley. If you're a Beast Mastery Hunter, you'll have the option to give her a scratch. 2. Step 2: Look for a rare spawn just to the north, Mother Om'ra. Kill the adds around her, then kill her too. Take the Shadowberriesthat drop back to Gara. 3. Step 3:Hunt down the following items, in order to create a Spirit Totem. 1. Step Four: Back at Gara (posi...

    Lost Netherwolf

If, for whatever reason, you want another shiny purple kitty, switch to the Void Realm by clicking on the dagger in the tree once more. Then, head slightly north to find the Lost Netherwolf sleeping under a tree. Note that this will only appearafter you've tamed Gara. Bulvinkel

Quite clearly named after The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, this one is a spectral moose that's found on a plateau directly south of the Halls of Valor in Stormheim. There are no special conditions for taming it, either.

Myonix, Leyline Prowler, & Mana Saber

Leyline Prowlers and Mana Sabers are both regular spawns found between Tel'anor and the Moon Guard Stronghold, in northwest Suramar. The only difference is colouring, To get to the Prowlers you'll need to actually enter the Stronghold, with the entrance found around 36, 24. The elite spawn, Myonix, is surrounded by pink-coloured cubs and found at the X on the map above.

    Pashya & Thicket Manahunter

The other two Sabers of Suramar are both found in the Crimson Thicket in southern Suramar. The Manahunter is the easier of the two to get, a regular creature that spawns frequently among regular Thicket Hunters on the southern side. Pashya, an elite version of the spectral cat like Myonix, appears very infrequently, and potentially in different parts of the Thicket.

    Bloodgullet

The only spirit beast found in the Dragon Isles, Bloodgullet is a menacing horned clefthoof roaming the woods just to the southeast of Maruukai within the Ohn'ahran Plains. In order to see it, you'll need a special buff. This can be found in a small hut far to the northeast, marked on the map with an X. Click the pink cluster of mushrooms on the table, then head to the circled areato find Bloodgullet. It only appears to Beast Mastery Hunters, and has a lengthy respawn timer.

Hati is a rare spirit beast that comes in eight different essences, itis tied to a specific quest chain that actually begins in Battle for Azeroth content. In order to get started, speak to the Image of Mimiron in the Kul'Tiras capital of Boralus, which you can reach by portal from Stormwind. He sets you up with the quest Spark of Genius. Follow th...
