The palaces are open all year round but in my opinion spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit them. Also, if possible, I recommend visiting them during weekdays as it is less crowded. Usually, summer, weekends and holidays is the busiest time. It is a good idea to visit Changdeokgung and Changgyeongung in one go as they are inner connected....
Jun 18, 2023 · The two palaces – Changdeokgung and Changgyeonggung – are located just next to each other, so do combine your visit to both. In my opinion, they both are worth your time, although Gyeongbokgung is often the only palace some visitors choose to visit.
Changdeokgung Palace was constructed in 1405, just a few years after the completion of the main palace, Gyeongbokgung, under the leadership of King Taejong. Initially serving as a secondary palace located 1 km east of Gyeongbokgung, it is the second oldest palace in Seoul after Gyeongbokgung.
