The Ghoul race is one of the only two races that can be obtained through a quest. It was added in Update 12, and can be obtained from the Experimic NPC. It gives various stat boosts during the night and allows the player to leech other player's health, making it good for survivability and overall combat effectiveness.
To obtain the Ghoul race, the player needs:
•100 Ectoplasm, which is dropped randomly by NPCs at the Cursed Ship, Haunted Shipwreck, and by the Cursed Captain.
•A Hellfire Torch, which can be dropped by the Cursed Captain, who spawns every third night.
Once the player has all the requirements, they can talk to the Experimic NPC, who can be found in the middle of the kitchen inside the Cursed Ship. He will offer to change the player's race to Ghoul for 100 Ectoplasms and the Hellfire Torch.
•Heightened Senses is good in combos, as it allows the player to use skills they normally wouldn't have been able to use due to their skill's cooldown and it lasts 8 seconds which is the longest duration among all V3's Abilities.
•Faster health regeneration and fast speed at night, although speed still slower than the Rabbit race.
•The player can change their race back to Ghoul whenever they'd like; no need to pay anything.
•Very good with Buddha due to the Fighting Styles' life leech. (Sanguine Art recommended because of more life leech)
•Can be paired with Ghoul Mask for even more life leech.
•It's a mixture of all Races, having faster health regeneration (Angel) and faster speed (Rabbit) at night, as well as extra defense (Shark/Cyborg) and extra damage (Human/Cyborg), making it a good choice for people who can't decide on which race they want to use.
•Night's passives are disabled during daytime, unless V4's Domain Expansion (tier 1 or above) is enabled.
•The V2's life leech only affects Fighting Styles, Not Swords or Blox Fruits or Guns, Which makes it less useful for other builds. The V4's Blood siphon gives life leech for all damage sources but still isn't worth if it is compared to other Races as it doesn't guarantee full heals and can be minimal sometimes.
•Not the best in every aspects due to balancing points.
•More tedious to obtain than the other Races (not like the Cyborg, but still very tedious).
•Titles:
•"The Ghoul" will be given upon evolving to V2.
•"Hell Hound" will be given upon evolving to V3.
•"Nightwalker" will be given upon evolving to V4.
