The Glitterfrost event is an event in Royale High that began on December 1, 2023 (although the seasonal shop started on November 16, 2023). The Advent Calendar returned with new items and a new prize, along with the new realm Castle's Heart and an updated version of the Student Dormitories.
Each part of the Glitterfrost 2023 event update was released in "waves", starting with the seasonal shop opening up on November 16, 2023. The first major update was released on December 1, 2023, with the release of the Castle's Heart, rework of the Student Dormitories, and the start of the Gifting Advent Calendar. Then on December 2, 2023, the Main Campus and School Office were decorated for the season. Eventually on December 3, 2023, the Dormitory Bathing Quarters was decorated, and on December 4, 2023, the Rainy Day Classroom was updated.
Advent Calendar
The gifting event advent calendar from previous years returned with 30 days of new items and diamond rewards starting on December 1, 2023 at release. Players can spend 500 diamonds to send a gift to another player on their friends list. The timer for each advent day advances to the next day at 12AM (00:00, midnight) in US Eastern time. Gifts will contain items based on the day that the gift was sent, not when it was opened. Getting and opening the daily gift for every one of the 30 days in 2023 will reward the Cozy Sweater, and the "RH Gifting Event 2023 Completionist!" badge. The gift must have been obtained through being gifted it by another player that day for it to count on the calendar and towards the completionist badge (i.e. it could not have been obtained through trading only).
Frosty Fortitude Halo Glitterfrost 2023
The Frosty Fortitude Halo Glitterfrost 2023 was released during the December 2, 2023 update as a rare possible reward from the new Glitterfrost fountain stories.
Snow Swan set
A new set, exclusive to November 1 to January 31, Snow Swan, was released on December 16, 2023. It was modelled by PureSweetener.
Castle's Heart
The Castle’s Heart was released alongside the Glitterfrost update. Lining all of the banisters are garlands with ornaments on them. Walking on these banisters would then turn the player's walking noises into sounds of walking through glass and foliage. The same occurs when walking on the christmas tree. Each side of the realm has two wreaths covered in ribbon and ornaments, hanging from chains in the large arches on the second floor. A large wreath is also above the main entrance, lining a “RH” logo. Smaller wreaths and tiny pine trees can also be found around the realm. When looking outside of a window or main entrance, it would be snowing outside. Several windows show a snowy ground, and snow covered pine trees. The centerpiece of the Glitterfrost decor is the Glitterfrost Tree in the center of the main stairs. The tree is covered in golden fabric, crowns, hearts, ornaments, pearls, and candles. At the bottom of the tree is many presents, including one lump of coal. A miniature version of the Snowglobe Summit train circles around the tree, and a piano song can be heard (although it’s very difficult to hear it). The train is still rideable, despite its size.
Main Campus
On December 2, 2023, the Main Campus was updated for Glitterfrost. The sky changed to fit the season better, and the school was transformed into a light blue design. The butterflies flying around were removed and the previous bats aren't present. The music playing changed to the same music that was played in Snowglobe Summit, but some songs are new. The fountain was also updated to the Crystal Fountain with ice replacing the water and featured a new Glitterfrost 2023 design of the Fountain Girl. She changed from pink to blue, received new items, and her face now returns before winning the halo. The guards wear pink costumes, and the NPC chat bubble now has snow around its frame.
School Office (Front Office)
On December 2, 2023, the School Office was updated. Poppy is dressed in a winter themed outfit, and the office is now decorated for winter, with garlands, wreaths, snowflakes and other decorations around. The corridor to go to the Locker Courtyard has been covered up with a wall and a student bulletin board. Some of Poppy’s dialogue when talking to her has also been changed. "Goodbye for now!" was changed to "Happy Holidays, {username}!" A list of Poppy’s known Glitterfrost Dialogue: •"Brrr... Hi...!! Don't ever look a gift unisus in the horn... My mom got me this super scratchy hat when I was just a wittle Freshfairy... But it has really come in handy... Brrr..." •"Hiii!!! I was just doing some research... Say, what kind of festivities do you celebrate during the Glitterfrost season? There's so many different holidays... I love hearing about them all!" •"Welcome back to the office! Say... Be careful not to slip outside... Ice fairies can get a little mischievous when their magic goes all tingly this time of year..." •"Oof... Is it lunch yet? ... Y'know, Glitterfrost feasts are so good... But I'm one of those weirdos that still craves ice cream, even in these temperatures... Listen... If I freeze, I freeze! A fire fairy can always help me out! ehehehe..." •"Hi there! Are you cold? Come, come and sit in the toasty office for a bit! You can keep me company while I send these season's greetings emails..." •“ A.... ACHOO! Ughhhhh.. Hey, take care when it comes to Glitterfrost in case you get sick! If you ever feel under the weather... Just let me know lickety-split, mkay? I can register you into our systems as being on 'Vacation Mode if you're too sick to do your log-ins!” •"Hi, I'm just making some paper stars... I do it with my leftover gift wrapping paper... I always try to remind myself to think of stuff I'm really grateful for during Glitterfrost... What are your Glitterfrost graces?" •"Hi! Oh my gosh! I'm so hyped. My granddad knit me a scarf for Glitterfrost! It's so cute! I love handmade stuff, it's always made with love!" •“Hi! I just got off the phone with my family! Glitterfrost is a lovely opportunity to let your loved ones know how much you care… Just don’t forget to remind ‘em no matter the season, you feel me?” •“Ahhh, hiii... Lookie, Glitterfrost is such a magical time... Royale High certainly loves it! Look around! We go all out! The guards even helped decorate!” •"... Sigh! Flying during Glitterfrost has to be so enchanting... Way up in the sky with the birds and the snow... Fairy lights flickering down below... Dreamy sigh..." •"*You catch Poppy talking to herself* I can see my breath in the air outside... Does this mean.... I'm secretly part dragon...? Maybe I'm Zed's long lost sister! That would make for a great Royaletube video..." •"Hiii!! I was just tippy-tapping on my keyboard and I just thought of somethin'... There are 4 exclusive badges you can obtain during this event.
"Royale Glitterfrost 2023!" badge is obtained by joining the Castle's Heart during the event.
"Chimney Surfer 2023!" Can be obtained by using fire magic on the fireplace in the Castle's Heart to light it. After doing so, a small opening will appear in the fireplace. The player must then fly up the chimney to reach the top. A chest can be found at the end, along with the aforementioned badge. Note that the fire doesn’t have to be lit by the player themselves to open the top of the chimney, and that the opening appears for everyone in the server.
"TIMBURRR!" badge is obtained by getting 10 people in the Castle's Heart and go behind the large Christmas Tree to begin hammering at the bottom. Eventually the tree will begin to tip over and the badge will be handed out to the server.
•On November 30, 2023, the dorms got updated by mistake and needed to be shut down.
•The sidebar, dialogue boxes, mouse cursor, and other UI were updated with a winter theme to match the update.
•The advent calendar had small changes, such as a new gift image and a higher diamond amount to send gifts (500 diamonds).
•The colors of the shop menu changed, and the winter sets and collection are now on its main menu.
