Mar 22, 2023 · I listen to almost all my music on cd changers. They do break a lot; usually the changer mechanism. For a combination of sound and reliability, I'd rate the Onkyo 390 the best of the bunch.

Fundamentally, it's a nice, decent sounding CD changer. Easy to use except that the random play wants to use all 6 CD slots so it can be a time consuming and irritating process - so I don't use it. However, the big problem is that the Onkyo DX-390 just doesn't last.
You will need a receiver/amp and a pair of speakers, Madeline. The Onkyo DX-C390 is an excellent choice for a carousel CD changer. The Sony STR-DH190 receiver in the first link below has plenty of power and RCA inputs for your Onkyo CD changer.
