   Is War and Peace worth reading? Of course it is. It’s one of the cornerstones of western literature. Reading isn’t supposed to be instant gratification like a movie or YouTube clip. It’s supposed to pull you in, illuminate your imagination and immerse you in a world. It makes you think, reread and even put down for periods.

   Is War & Peace a good book?

   • War and Peace is a tome covering several complex topics. Tolstoy writes in a manner which makes it difficult to take in all of what he's saying at once—there are usually several threads of thought being followed more or less at once. That said, it hasn't been said to be the best piece of writing of all time for nothing.

   • It’s not a graphic or violent book, but it isn’t exactly easy-reading. I first read it when I was about 15 or 16, and I think any earlier would’ve been a bit pointless for me.    My grandma gifted me War and Peace in hardcover 2 months ago. I had heard some good stuff about the book and I was excited to read it until I saw the size of the book. The longest book I have ever read is House of leaves and this is like twice the size. So I just wanted to ask if it is worth reading?
