2 days ago · Camping is available at nearby Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. The historic park is at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen, about a 20 minute drive north of Sonoma. The park’s upper parking lot provides access to a picnic area, Londons' Cottage, stables, stone barns, silos and "pig palace." The Kohler & Frohling winery ruins are near the cottage.

Wolf House was a 26-room mansion in Glen Ellen, California, built by novelist Jack London and his wife Charmian London.The house burned on August 22, 1913, shortly before the Londons were planning to move in. Stone ruins of the never-occupied home still stand, and are part of Jack London State Historic Park, which has been a National Historic Landmark since 1963.
The Winery Cottage was the main living quarters throughout London's time on the ranch, and the location where many of his visitors stayed. London bought it in 1911 and expanded it later that year. London further expanded by adding a west wing to the cottage, which served as a study where he wrote many of his stories.

Sep 26, 2012 · A shrine for lovers of both open space and literature, Jack London State Historic Park includes 26 miles of hiking trails as well as the cottage where London did much of his writing. There's also a museum devoted to London lore and the haunting ruins of Wolf House, London's dream home, which was gutted by fire before he ever moved in and remained unfinished when he died in 1916.
