Javier Navarrete (born May 9, 1956) is a Spanish film score composer. His best known score, for which he received an Oscar nomination, was for Pan's Labyrinth (his second collaboration with Guillermo del Toro, the first being The Devil's Backbone). Navarrete was born in Teruel.

Javier Navarrete was born in 1956 in Teruel, Spain.After studying with Chilean composer Gabriel Brncic in Barcelona, he became involved in avant-garde performances and electronic music research. In 1986 he wrote the score for his first film, a horror cult movie called, In A Glass Cage.
The score for Pan's Labyrinth by Spanish composer Javier Navarrete was nominated for an Academy Award. It was entirely structured around a lullaby, and del Toro had the entire score included on the soundtrack album, even though much of it had been cut during production. The album was released on 19 December 2006.
