The Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts (GSA) is a three-week summer program for rising juniors and seniors in the state of Kentucky. Each spring over 1700 students audition for 256 (as of 2017) spots in the program. The program is located at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.

GSA auditions & reviews the Commonwealth’s most promising high school sophomores and juniors in nine different arts disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Design (formerly known as Architecture + Design), Drama, Film + Photography, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Visual Art and Vocal Music.
The Governors School for the Arts provides hands-on arts opportunities for the state's talented high school students who are dancers, actors, instrumental and vocal musicians, creative writers, future architects or visual artists.
GSA 2024 will be held at the University of Kentucky (Lexington, KY). All students will attend one of two sessions listed below. Students are assigned which session they attend and will learn which session they’ve been accepted to along with the class announcement.
Students must audition or present a visual arts portfolio for acceptance into The Governor's School for the Arts (GSA). All current 8th - 11th grade students are eligible to apply. We welcome students of all interests, races/ethnicities, gender identities, experience levels, and all socio-economic backgrounds.
