Also increase the Smooth and Feather slightly to make sure the edge appears realistic. Finally, set the Output to New Layer.

Make sure the mode is on Add to Selection, and the size of the brush should be roughly the same size as the child's nose in the image. In our image that worked out to be around 70 px. Also make sure the Hardness is set to 25%.
