May 11, 2021 · Pennsylvania Dutch is the language the Amish speak (sometimes also known as Pennsylvania German ). It has been brought to my attention that there might be some interest in learning Pennsylvania Dutch, especially among people who love the Amish. So I have created a few to give lessons and teach some basic Pennsylvania Dutch words and phrases.

Some older Deitsh words found in The Heilich Shrift (Bible) or the dictionary are no longer as commonly used among native speakers. There are many dialects of Pennsylvania Dutch, and some words may vary between different areas, families, and communities.
