The fresh water forced surface water temperatures to drop a little bit too. On Winnie’s west side, our readings ranged between 56 and 57 degrees on Wednesday. Shiners, small perch and other forage fish were forced away from the shorelines and spread out across the lake’s sprawling sand flats.
May 15, 2024 · Walleyes: Leech Lake Fishing Report. Walleyes seemed to be biting all over the lake. Fish were caught on Stony Point, Little Stony Point, the south end of Bear Island, Sucker Bay, Portage Bay and the Walker Narrows. Most anglers were having the best success in six to twelve feet of water.

May 9, 2024 · Leech Lake Report. Crappie action has improved, and fish are now being found in the harbors and shallow bays throughout the lake, with better activity when the sun is out. Pitch jigs tipped with minnows or plastics under a float in 2 to 4 feet on bright days, and look slightly deeper when it’s cloudy.
